Lisa Johnson Cohen

I'm a PhD student in the Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology graduate group at UC Davis, advised by Dr. C. Titus Brown and Dr. Andrew Whitehead. My research interests are in comparative environmental transcriptomics and bioinformatics, aiming to characterize the functional capacity of diverse organisms to adapt and respond to stress associated with environmental changes. With the recent explosion in nucleic acid sequencing biotechnology, I am passionate about demystifying data-intensive phases of research so that discoveries can be proportional to the data collected then translated at decision-making levels: patient care, environmental resource management and policy.
